  Details:
The cables consist of up to 6 elements stranded around a Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) central member. The
elements are a combination of filled loose tubes (each 4 or 8 optical fibres), and solid fillers to give the required fibre count.
The tubes are filled with a synthetic oil based jelly, non-nutritive to fungus, electrically non conductive, homogeneous and free
from dirt and foreign matter. The tubes are stranded using the reverse oscillating lay method.
The cable core interstices are water blocked by means of suitable water swellable elements (dry core). The core is
wrapped with binders/tapes (as required to aid manufacture) and protected by a black polyethylene sheath, which includes a
messenger (7x1.0 mm steel strand). Two rip cords will be placed longitudinally under the cable sheath, disposed at 180°.


























Standard delivery length: 2000 ± 100 m; 4000 ± 200 m
Other lengths available upon agreement
Up to a maximum of 10% of the total number of cable lengths could be shorter than nominal values.

- Aerial performance: the cables are suitable for aerial installation on up to 50 meter span.
The cables are designed and manufactured in order to withstand the following test conditions:
- Tensile test (in accordance with IEC 60794-1-2 method E1A and E1B).
Under “Maximum Allowable Tension” load there shall be no fibre strain and no attenuation increase.
- Crush test (in accordance with IEC 60794-1-2 method E3).
Load (plate / plate):3000 N / 100 mm; duration of load: 5 minutes; after removing the load, there shall be no change in attenuation.
- Impact test (in accordance with IEC 60794-1-2 method E4).
Impact energy: 15 N.m; anvil radius: 300 mm; one impact in 3 different places spaced 500 mm apart; no change in attenuation after the test.
- Cable torsion (in accordance with IEC 60794-1-2 method E7).
Length under test: ≤ 2 m; number of turns: one half turn (trough 180°) in each direction; 5 cycles; no change in attenuation after the test.
- Temperature cycling (in accordance with IEC 60794-1-2 method F1).
Finished cable length of at least 1000 m; two thermal cycles; duration time t1 :≥ 4 hrs; the change in average attenuation
